Disciplinary Rules
1. Pub Bongsor College lays great emphasis on discipline and character building of the students. The rules and the regulations of the college are binding to all students of the college.
2. Only such individuals, societies or Association as have been recognised / approved by the Principal, shall have the facilities to the College premises.
3. At the time of admission, the students and the parents / guardians are required to furnished an undertaking in respect of the students’ regular attendance in the classes and appearance in the college and university examination as per guidelines / instructions as specified by the concerned authorities.
4. The rules concerning the attendance in the class of the students are strictly maintained in accordance to the instruction of Gauhati University which is notified by the college authority at the beginning of the academic session. The rules for non-collegiate and dis-collegiate of Gauhati University will be strictly adhered to.
5. The rules concerning college examination are strictly accorded to the Examination Committee of the college. And for the university examinations the eligibility conditions and instructions of the university will be strictly followed.
6. The following activities of the students in this college will be treated as serious offences. All powers for disciplinary actions against the offences are vested with the Principal and the concerned Cells & Committee of the College and their decision shall be final in all such matters.
I. Encouraging and participating in ragging of any types.
II. Forcible disruption of classes.
III. Destruction of college properties.
IV. Making unnecessary hue & cry and blowing of vehicle horn in the College premises.
V. Misbehaviour shown towards girls, women, teachers and employees of the college.
VI. Uses of drugs, alcohol, narcotics, smoking inside the college campus.
VII. Providing any wrong information to the college authority.
VIII. Damaging and losing of library books of the college.
IX. And any other activities that may detriment the academic atmosphere of the college.
7. Students are to keep the photo-identity card of the college with them in the college premises and they may have to produce it on demand. The identity cards shall be made available to the students within 15 days from the date of admission. The identity Cards are to be renewed in each academic year. The old identity cards are to be submitted for renewal at the beginning of the new academic year. Loss of identity card must be reported to the college office immediately and such student must apply for a duplicate one with proper documentation and cost.
8. Students must have a look at the Notice Board soon after they arrive college and before leaving the College. They are also asked to visit the college website regularly for important notifications.
9. College uniform for the students is a must while they are in the college campus (except for NCC/NSS / cultural / sports practices / activities / special days)
10. Use of mobile phone by the students within the classrooms, examination halls and in any of the meetings of the college is strictly prohibited.
11. Uploading any controversial post in social media about the college and its stake holders that may prove detrimental to the prestige of the college is strictly prohibited.
12. Any bite to any mass media of communication on the matters related to the college will be made only by the principal or person(s) authorized by the principal.
13. Students’ union will be strictly guided by the constitution of the Pub Bongsor College Students’ Union and such instructions that college authority may notify from time to time.
14. Any notices desired to be pasted or circulated by the PBCSU or any individual students anywhere in the college premises shall require the approval of the principal.
15. All powers of maintenance of discipline are vested with the concerned cells / committees. In any critical case the decision of the principal shall be final.
